Dr. Malcolm N. Burgess grew up in the UK. He has a degree in Chemistry and a Doctorate in Biochemistry and Physiology from London and Bath Universities. He worked in the Pharmaceutical Industry for 45 years, moving to the USA in 1991 and settling in beautiful Bucks County in 1996. His work took him all over the world where he learned to harness cultural diversity and build effective multi-cultural teams. His global experiences (including a spell living in Hong Kong) give him a unique perspective on managing cultural differences. This, coupled with his life experiences (being bullied at school, having an autistic nephew) has given him a deep-seated motivation to prevent others going through similar developmental ordeals.
Dr. Burgess is married and has four children who all graduated from Central Bucks School District. He is retired, and is spending his time trying to make things better for those who need help. In addition to his work on the Bucks County MH/DP Advisory Board, he also serves on the board of The Peace Center and the Buckingham Township Environmental Advisory Commission.
