Bucks County Field Trip Transportation Grant

2023-2024 School Year

We are thrilled to reintroduce the Bucks Countywide Field Trip Transportation Grant for the 2023-2024 school year. This initiative, named "TransportEd: Fueling Bucks County's Educational Field Trips," has been designed to enrich educational experiences and facilitate local field trips for students in grades third through eighth across Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Our goal is to promote hands-on learning opportunities and ensure that students can explore the historic gems within our county without the burden of transportation costs.

Eligibility and Funding

All public schools and school districts in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, are eligible to participate in this grant program. Students in grades three through eight can apply for funding through their designated school district representative. The program aims to provide financial assistance to cover transportation expenses for field trips to selected historic sites within the county.

Program Highlights

Enhanced Funding: Schools participating in the program can now receive up to $500 per bus, providing even more support to make these valuable field trips a reality.

Grade Eligibility: Third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth-grade students can benefit from this grant program during the 2023-2024 school year.

Application Process: Schools need to appoint a representative, who can be a Principal, Vice Principal, or Office Administrator, to liaise with the county for program coordination. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until the allocated funds are depleted.

Transportation Reimbursement: Program funds cover bus transportation costs only. Schools must submit a transportation cost proposal along with their application. This proposal should be an estimate or purchase order from the transportation company or school district's transportation department.

Procedure

Application Submission: 
Designated school representatives will submit applications that include official proposals for bus transportation costs for eligible trips. These applications will be accepted and processed as received until the funding is fully allocated.

Funding Approval: 
The county will notify school representatives of funding approvals, providing the green light for the approved field trips.

Field Trip Execution: 
Once the pre-approved field trip is underway, the school representative will submit an invoice from the bus transportation service to the county for payment.

Reimbursement Process: 
Reimbursement checks will be issued directly to the school and mailed accordingly.
