2023 Dog Licenses go on sale December 1, 2022!

If your dog has recently passed away and you would like their name removed from future renewal notices, please email [email protected] with the most recent license number or the address of most recent license.

Requirements

All dogs 3 months or older are required to be licensed by January 1 of each year. Violators can be cited with a maximum fine of $300 per violation plus court costs.

Fees

  • $8.50 productive male or female
  • $6.50 neutered male or spayed female

How to Obtain an Annual Dog License

Annual Dog Licenses are available online, by mail, in person, or via a dog agent. 

Online

(Note: this link will take you to an external site maintained by the County's third-party vendor. This is the only website approved to issue dog licenses on behalf of the County of Bucks.)

By Mail or In Person

Annual License Applicants can download the Annual Dog License Application, complete the form, and mail or hand-deliver them to the to the Treasurer's Office. Checks should be made payable to "Bucks County Treasurer."  All documents must be original, we cannot accept photocopied signatures.

Senior Annual Dog Licenses

Fees

To qualify for the pricing below, the owner must be at least 65 years of age at the time of application or a person with a disability.

  • $6.50 productive male or female
  • $4.50 neutered male or spayed female

Person with a Disability

A Person with a Disability is defined as a Person who receives disability insurance or supplemental security income for the aged, blind or disabled under the Social Security Act (49 Stat. 620, 42 U.S. C. 301 et seq.) or who receives a rent or property tax rebate under the Act of March 11, 1971 (P.L. 104, No.3) known as the “Senior Citizens Rebate and Assistance Act,” on account of Disability; who has a disability certificate issued by the U. S. Veterans Administration;  or who has a (handicapped license) Special Registration  Plate under 75 PA. C.S. 1338 (relating to handicapped) person with a disability (plate and placard).
