An alternative to out-of-home and/or secure placement, there may be times when the Court orders Electronic Monitoring for a juvenile. For the duration of electronic monitoring, the juvenile will wear a transmitter around his/her ankle that will be monitored by the Bucks County Juvenile Probation department. Electronic Monitoring provides structure and accountability for juveniles who were ordered to house arrest by a judge. Electronic Monitoring provides an extra layer of supervision, with the goal of improving public safety in the community, while utilizing the least restrictive program. The juvenile will be subject to intense monitoring of their activities during their time on EM.
