Intensive Supervision

The Intensive Unit supervises juveniles who are released back into the community after they have completed an out of home placement for a period of time. The Intensive probation unit closely monitors juveniles upon their release.

The goal of the Intensive Unit is to help rehabilitate juvenile offenders outside of placement. It aims to reduce the rate of recidivism. The Intensive Unit works with supporting agencies to ensure the juvenile is not only monitored, but supported to take steps toward rehabilitation. These agencies may include:

  • Mental health organizations
  • Counseling services
  • Social services
  • Community treatment programs
  • Relapse prevention programs
  • Educational and vocational training programs
