MAN FACING GUN CHARGES FOLLOWING SEARCH OF HIS PLUMSTEAD TOWNSHIP HOME

A 64-year-old man is facing a number of weapons charges after a search of his Plumstead Township home turned up a fully automatic “ghost gun” and a rifle with an obliterated serial number.

Scott Allen McCaughey, of the 4900 block of Durham Road, was charged with two counts of prohibited possession of a firearm and one count each of possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number and possession of a controlled substance. 

Based on his criminal history, which included a 1980 felony conviction for robbery, McCaughey is not allowed to possess a firearm. 

He was arraigned on Friday, April 29, 2022, by Magisterial District Judge Frank W. Peranteau Sr. who set bail at $75,000, 10 percent.
