The vast majority of votes cast in Tuesday’s primary election in Bucks County have been tallied, with about 1,500 ballots outstanding.

Board of Elections staff had finished processing the bulk of ballots – more than 152,000 total – by about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday. Unofficial results and breakdowns can be viewed on the county website.

The county does not anticipate significant changes to the posted unofficial vote totals until at least next week, if at all.

Of those ballots known to be outstanding, 714 are segregated mail-in/absentee ballots, and 640 are provisional ballots received from polling places.

Segregated ballots include those with missing signatures, dates, secrecy envelopes and other issues.

Board of Elections staff will research segregated and provisional ballots, and the Board of Elections will vote whether to accept them.

The Board of Elections is scheduled to meet May 24 to discuss provisional and outstanding ballots.

Up to 153 overseas civilian, federal and military ballots also remain to be counted. Those ballots must be received by the Board of Elections by 5 p.m. May 24.

About 48,000 ballots were cast in Tuesday’s election by mail-in or absentee. Voters this election returned mail-in/absentees at a rate of nearly 80 percent.

Turnout among Bucks County voters in Tuesday’s primary is estimated at 32 percent.
