BUCKS COUNTY DA'S OFFICE AWARDED $3 MILLION GRANT TO FIGHT GUN VIOLENCE

The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office was recently awarded a federal Gun Violence Investigation and Prosecution grant of more than $3 million, further strengthening our efforts to remove illegal guns from the streets and hands of those who should not possess them.

The 2-year grant of $3,079,328 was administered by the state’s Commission on Crime and Delinquency and will primarily support the development of a county-wide Gun Violence Task Force, as well as extending access to advanced investigative equipment and technology to municipal departments throughout the County during gun violence investigations.

As demonstrated through this office’s tireless and successful efforts to combat gun violence over the past year, funding through this project will directly interdict and reduce firearm related crimes in the region through a potent combination of strategic partnerships, proactive investigative tools, and increased manpower, reads the grant application written by Chief Administrator Steve Doerner.
